If you cry like a fountain

With great cunning, Noemi responds to a quivering lower lip with distractions and arguments that range from the relatively reasonable to the most whimsical, but which are nevertheless useful. At a time when there have been various more or less literary attempts to approach the matter of emotions with younger readers, these wonderful drawings, bathed in tears, are a breath of fresh air.

With a style that recalls the heavily coloured felt-tip drawings that we did until the colour ran out and we scraped the paper with a dry pen, the Italian author constructs a narrative made up of problems and solutions – often absurd, others less so – a kind of game based on things which seem negative without necessarily having to invent that wearying idea of eternal happiness.
