All avid readers know how stories can help us to overcome our fears. After reading a book, it’s as if we had won super powers with which to defeat witches, dragons, wolves, storms … sharks!

In this book, it happens the other way around: a boy is swimming quietly until he is frightened by a word that makes him jump back (in this case, a word with many teeth!).

The boy doesn’t want to go back into the sea and needs the help of the reader to overcome his fear.

What will happen?

Will the reader dare to plunge into the deep blue sea?
Might courage pass from the characters to the readers, but also from the readers to the characters of books?
